Canada Day with Don & Zaun

For over a decade now on Canada’s birthday, the Toronto Blue Jays host a ballgame to a sell-out crowd. Normally during a sold out Jays game the seats are basking in blue, but on July 1st every year, the boys in blue trade in their jerseys for red ones to honour the pride of Canada.

Other things that come to mind when you think of Canada is of course Hockey. And you can’t think of Canadian Hockey without thinking of Don Cherry - the often outspoken hockey analyst and former NHL coach.

With Rogers Media locking down exclusive NHL broadcasting rights back in November, it was time to make it official. On July 1st the deal was done and what better way to celebrate it then to have “Grapes” himself swing by the Rogers Centre on Canada Day and catch a ballgame.

Cherry joined former Blue Jay and current baseball analyst Gregg Zaun and his co-host Jamie Campbell for a quick chat about all things Canada!

The photos ended up making the cover of the Toronto Sun the following morning. The gig also landed me in one of the sweetest most comfy spots to take in a a game…see below.
